2010 Hurricane Season Forecast

Postby Wahoo » Wed Mar 10, 2010 2:53 pm

The bad news: Weather forecasters predict a more active hurricane season in 2010.

The good news: The head forecaster is Al Gore.

Don't shed any tears for Algore, Eco. He's laughing all the way to the bank with the millions he's raked in with the global warming scam.

I guess I'm pretty much a spring-breaker, since I tend to book most of my trips in April (before hurricane season begins). But I sometimes travel to the Caribbean or the Atlantic during July or August (hurricane season), and when I do I've gotten into the habit during the last week or two before my trip of checking the hurricane tracking services on the Internet for developing systems in the lower Atlantic off the coast of Africa and for the projected paths of any developing tropical storms and hurricanes. Have had to evacuate only once due to a hurricane, one summer that we drove to Emerald Isle in North Carolina's Outer Banks for a week at the beach. Halfway thru the week the hurricane bore down on the Outer Banks, making a beeline for Emerald Isle, and the call was sounded to evacuate the island. We hurriedly packed up and left the ocean-front beach house we'd rented that night. I'd planned to drive a couple of hours inland and stop at a motel for the night, but ended up driving straight home all night--got home about 6:00 the next morning. Good thing we evacuated when we did, too, 'cause the beach house we were in took a direct hit and was demolished.

Someone sent this to me last week. Al Gore got the Nobel peace prize......I guess he did more than this lady?

The world hasn't just become wicked...it' s always been wicked. The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving.

Irena Sendler
There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena.

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.

She had an 'ulterior motive'.
She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews (being German).
Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids).
She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.
The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.
She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.
After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.
Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.
Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.
She was not selected.
Al Gore won --- for a slide show on Global Warming.
