2010 Olympic games.

Today I heard on the radio that a new duty for the Vancouver BC police will be to make sure that there are no homeless people living on the down town streets during the Olympic games. The police say they will move them to shelters or jail cells – the police also said that their not doing it because of the Olympics - they are doing it for the safety of the homeless people. The shelters and jails are all ready full so I bet that the police will just start taking the homeless for rides to the out skirts of Vancouver.

I think its just hiding a problem (the city doesn’t want the people of world to think there is poverty in Vancouver) But there is and I figure that instead of hiding it they should fix it. Cheers!

I find it discussing in a lot of ways begging with the police publicly announcing that they
are only doing it for the safety of the homeless and ending with some of the homeless will only be homeless because they got kicked out of their down town apartments so that the landlords could charge a fortune to the tourists during the games.
They (police and landlords) did the same thing during the Vancouver 86 Expo

And for the record, I refused on principle to touch anything in that minibar during my entire stay in Vancouver...except for one beer I drank one day when my throat was really parched and my principles were more flexible.

Ya but you must of checked out some of the bars in Vancouver.
I’m a little curious if you went down to Granville street and if you did –
did you sign the petition to stop the closing of the last peep show left in Canada?
