At some point we are going to add an "about us" page to out main page/blog area of the site and would like everyone's 2 cents on the topic. Instead of a normal drool inducing about us page, I would like it to be a little deeper.

Here are some of my reasons so far;

1. To show up higher in the Google search results than people who report made up facts about Jamaica, examples:

What is most outrageously immoral is the blindness and the indifference expressed by politicians and big business. Jamaica is a small island-nation with nearly 45% unemployment, an income level at one twentieth that of the United States, overwhelming poverty, crimes of violence because of paraquat poisoning reaching epidemic proportions, children going without food, and a host of other degrading social conditions.

although almost every Jamaican person on the island (including doctors, judges, lawyers, and police officers), uses ganja in one form or another, benefits from ganja in one form or another,

I am not sure if I am reading this right are you saying that the new page will be
partly for correcting the miss information (or propaganda) about Jamaica that is
spread on the Web?
And partly for attracting new members and viewers to JAB?
If so I will be into helping out on both. Cheers!

The about us is just a mission statement of sorts to let know people know about the site and why we exist. Since the site is about all of us and not just my little mission to have our site show up higher in the search results than people who publish donkey dung I wanted to get everyone's two cents on the topic.

So to be clearer......

What attracts you to this site?

What would you say the goals of the site are/should be?

If people read the page and like what they see they might come over and join so long as the information on the forum is close to the information on the about us page. We are always open to creating more sections on the forum if enough people are interested in posting on the topics.....unlike the poetry section

Why don't you remove the poetry section?

Because I forgot how to create sections and merge them Speaking of which it might be a good time to bring up the whole section thing since so many people have come here since the last time we offered people to suggest new sections.
