Here are some of the drugs that are often prescribed to patients , who sometimes get addicted to these medications.

Fentanyl- prescribed for chronic pain-50 times stronger than heroin, 80 times more powerful than morphine.
OxyContin-morphine like painkillers use for long-term treatment of chronic pain.
Vicodin and percocet- powerful lures for abuse.

I think fear can be a big factor.
My friend is addicted to her Depression meds, because she never wants to feel that way again.
But I know that you can ween yourselfff off them and you will do fine!

I can't count the amount of people I know who are addicted to script drugs. In almost all cases it started with pain meds given by a dr and the people could not shake them before they became addicted. It's sad to see the people act like heroin junkies but they are sick people, a product of chemical meds.

Try taking chemical drugs for 1-3 months and then revisit the subject. Some people just get sick when their body is use to and demands more of a chemical. Talk to people who are trying to get off of them and ask them how they feel, how they take them just dull the pain or sick feelings. I have an addictive personality so I pray that I never need any of that garbage.

I have a close family member that is addicted to morfine.. and another one to about 13 pills a day of different kinds of medications.

It really depends on what the pills are for. In the first case.. the morfine, she is addicted because she'd be in contsant pain if she didnt take them.
Second case... she is using pills to keep her emotions drowned.. and pills to sleep.. because she cant sleep without dem anymore...

I do think a lot of addictions are mostly addictions of the mind, if you are not in extreme PHYSICAL pain that is.. and I think there is something in the pills that makes them so addictive in order to keep the market going.... sickning but I think its real.
