its easy to say after the event, and after negative media coverage BUT sometimes people just LOOK like they are wierd and fucked up. and I think she did. apparantly when she first got arrested she was doing handstands or something in the police cell (i could be wrong) but her whole demeanour smacked of coldness and wierdness and THATS why the media latched onto it. its like when someone is murdered and the police set up a press conference with the loved ones weeping and wailing appealing for help to catch the killer. those things are set up to catch the killers alright - the loved ones.

Latest I heard too was that the family are going to appeal the conviction (as expected). They are under the impression that because the laws in Italy are not exactly the same as the laws in the US - then the law in Italy is an ass. It's alien to them that different countries have different laws, and because things are not what THEY are used to, then somehow it is not right. The fact that English is not spoken in Italy appears to be a problem for them too.

They are complaining that Know was questioned in Italian, and that she should have been given an interpreter. As far as I was aware the girl was fluent in Italian so why did she need an interpreter, and why should she be questioned in English when she in Italy and could speak Italian?

The woman is just pure evil - I shudder to think what would have happened to that man - had he not had an alibi - she was ready to sell him down the river to save her own neck.

it also says a lot about brit/american culture where we expect countries who speak a different language to BE english. speak english, eat english even when we are in THEIR country. and then cry out when one of ours is treated 'unfairly' because they are uncivilised and we are right because we are the good guys.

I'm surprise how the African guy trial was fast and wift, from what I read he only had sex with her. Or is he an accomplice to the muder? Maybe I'm wrong I did not follow the whole story.
