Are the Jamaican Buses Regulated

I have been on quite a few buse in in jamaica - some had had notices notice saying 'room for 16 people only' and there are double that amount on the bus.

why does nobody say anything?

The JUTC buses are regulated in terms of numbers of people allowed. The little 12 and 16 seaters are privately owned like ours was and they will pile in as many as they can get in without the wheels buckling! :lol:

The one's regulated are having issues as well. Several bus accidents lately. Been some talk that even regulated means little if no one is really watching.

Regulation and Jamaica...thats an oxymoran ! Anyway, its JUTA, not JUTC. The concern is not how many ppl on a bus, the concern is that the bus is properly tagged and fees have been paid, thats about all the authorities care about
