Beware- Fake ATM Machines Rob You Blind

Postby ECO » Wed Nov 11, 2009 9:24 pm

I guess clever people are going around setting up fake ATM machines that reads your magnetic strip and records while you enter your pin. The clever people then create fake ATM cards with your card info and pin and keep withdrawing from your account until the money is gone or you catch on. Since the machines look real the only clue is finding them in really odd places...........lol ATM's are everywhere so I'm not sure where an odd place is.

Last night they were claiming you could buy the fake ATM machines on Ebay but I had no luck buying any (kidding about the buying part).

I pity the fool that sets up a fake ATM machine to rob me of my hard-earned wages. The judicial system may be lenient with him, but when he gets out of jail, I'll be there...waiting...with my Louisville Slugger.

Knee caps or knuckles? <---Where are you going to hit him.

Long story short: 12 or so years ago I went to an ATM without a penny in my pocket to get money to take my wife out to dinner. The ATM ate my card and I swear that it even said yum yum. I picked up the phone that was attached to the ATM and asked whoever answered the phone at some remote place to please return my card.....they said it was not possible........I used a bunch of bad words........still didn't get my card back...........also didn't get to eat dinner out that night........I have never owned an ATM card since that day.

Eco, when I get thru with him, his face will look worse than that of that poor woman whose face was bit off by that deranged pet chimpanzee!

Humor aside, the same thing happened to me years ago, except I'll admit it was entirely my fault. I was trying to make an ATM withdrawal one weekend morning. I was wasted and couldn't for the life of me remember my PIN code. After about the third incorrect number I keyed in, the machine--to my horror--ate my ATM card! Had to close out my checking account and open a new one. That learned me (not to try to make an ATM withdrawal when I'm completely messed up)!

I always use the ones at a bank. Gotta love the ATMs in Jamaica, with enlosed tinted windows and a/c.
