Black and White People Furniture

Postby ECO » Wed Jul 29, 2009 9:27 pm

I saw this video on another site and could not believe that the website in the video is real.....it's a real company!
http://www.redhousefurniture.com/

What are your thoughts, creative or stupid?

Have white and black people not been able to shop at the same furniture store before this place came around?

Should they of included Asians and Spanish people along with other people or is black and white unity enough?

lol, i saw this commercial on a cable channel, at first i thought it was a comedy skit, then i realize it was actually a commercial,it took me a while to get the concept of this commercial. I don't think it's funny, however, they could have being a bit more creative.

Yeah, why is it alway Black and White ? where are the Asains and Latinos supposed to shop, and why are they left out. :-)

Lol, if the video helped to increase their sales maybe someone should produce on that caters to all races?

After researching the video a little more I discovered that some people were upset because they thought it was racist :scratchheadblue: A young black lady from NC defended the video stating that black and white people from NC just love to shop for furniture.....together. She said a bunch of other stuff as well but I kept falling to sleep so I shut it off. I also looked into the two guys that produced the video, IMO they are very talented and remind me of those two batty boys who Made the South Park videos and tv shows.

Maybe that is why he only say 1/2 of the word "Cuba" every time he says it?

I want to know how he went from being a Dr to selling cars............something went wrong.

If I'm not mistaking, when they move to another country they have to have a certain amount of credits and pass the exam of that country. I've worked with those who were doctors in other countries but they are not able to practice here. I am not exactly sure of why else.

I'm not sure what you mean, the same people that produced the black & white furniture ad produced his ad.

I see a shiny hook attached to what looks like a fishing line and their is a nice piece of...........yeah that looks like bait on the hook. (I'm being baited into responding)

Tinks, that's how some people from the south sound.........it's normal. Since they only speak a few words a minute and really put thought into the words what they have to say is not just blah balh blah, it has meaning. Find me another furniture store in they world that has been able to deliver the same message with all that blah blah blah.

Living in the south I've been to places that did not allow people based on color (mostly bars). While I hope that crap does not still happen today, if it does an ad like that sends a clear message that we cater to all.

LOL.. It would take a lot more than that Ad to make me believe that!

Oh, and I never said there was anything wrong with a Southern Accent - after all you have one!

Note however, I don't find the Ad offensive / Nor do I find it funny.

It's just SHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, someone was ass enough yesterday to say something about my Boston or New England accent.......looks like it's time for me to brush on up my southern accent!

I found humor in the ad since I spend a bunch of time marketing my own company and love to see how others market their own. The platitudes like when both the black and white guys had to state that they were black or white had me rolling on the floor. IMO wasting ad space or time on platitudes is silly and the video goes against everything I practice maybe that is why I found it funny.

A platitude is a trite, meaningless, biased, or prosaic statement that is presented as if it were significant and original. The word derives from plat, the French word for "flat."
