Blue Mountain Coffee Tour

Postby ECO » Mon Jan 10, 2011 4:21 pm

I'll write more about this on on our blog...soon come. While chilling at Rafjam's in the Blue Mountains they mentioned a coffee tour up the road a little bit. COFFEE....+ Jamaican coffee and a tour= I'm game! The slide show doesn't do the tour any justice, eating the roasted beans, learning about how the beans are grow, the history....... the tour was priceless!

Do you know want the term "BBQ" means? It's actually a place to let the sun dry your beans!

That tray looks just like the one I used to clean my weed on. Those double-album LB record covers worked great, too.

Pink Floyd's Ummagumma and the Allman Brother's Eat a Peach double-sleeve albums were my favorites for taking care of business.

We now use the term like that but it started out as the name for where they roast coffee beans. Maybe at some point along the way they started cooking up food while they were waiting for the beans to dry? <---I'll figure that one out on my next trip!
