Broken rides at a theme park with a kid

Postby ECO » Sun Aug 15, 2010 10:03 pm

I took my daughter to Six Flags today. Our first attempt at a roller coaster ended with us leaving the line once it broke down.

Fast forward a few hours and we are waiting over an hour while another one breaks down 4-5 times while we are in line. To make matters worse I'm telling my daughter this one is not as scary as the superman ride..... Come to find out they renamed the superman ride and sh figured out that we were in that line. After a while of watching ride after ride being stuck out in the rain we were the 5th set of riders to go when we both had to go to the bathroom so bad we had to leave.

Fast forward an hour and another roller coaster broke down one ride before us.

After complaining to the park and suggesting a fair resolution they agreed so we will try our luck again in the morning. If you read about a roller coaster crash and I fail to return to the site you will know what happened.

The real travesty is what they charge for a beer. $15.00 for two Heinekins! And those was 2005 dollars!

Today we tackled the roller coasters again with "exit line passes". Pretty cool, we walked right up to the exits and we able to go directly on the rides ahead of everyone else.

Oh......karma of sorts bit me in the ass! They sell drink bottles for $13 or so with free refills the same day and $1.00 refills for the rest of the year. I have never once payed for a refill...karma= I lost one of mine in a locker when I forgot the locker number and gave up on the attendant opening every one of them since they contained other peoples stuff. Plus my back up bottle was left in the car so I had to pay $13 which makes up for most of my "free drinks".

Wahoo, I saw the beer and refrained from buying any of it. Now I wonder if they would of filled up my drink bottle full of beer for free.....

Speaking of theme parks, have I mentioned that I worked in "England" at Busch Gardens Williamsburg one summer? I rather enjoyed the baroque music and pageantry, but it was humiliating dressing up in knickers, a workman's shirt, stockings, and codpiece each day.

PS. Okay, I just made up the part about the codpiece. :jestercolor:
