Canada’s new C-130 Hercules

Postby Nanoose » Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:57 pm

Canada just deployed the first of it’s 2 new Hercules C-130 transport aircraft and the long term plan is to replace all our old Hercules with the C-130. I really think Canada should ask for it’s money back on the used nuclear sub we bought from the UK and get a couple more C-130s. Cheers and Happy New Year!

Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.

Looking at the video, a 4' high fence is all that separates the C130 from badmen? Good god, if I only had a nice big hanger to hide it and a nice long runway......ok and the skills to fly it and some gas I might consider sneaking it away.

Well in the video you can see a part of the chain link fence that has been cut and spread apart and there is a very suspicious looking guy going by on a dirt bike - hoping it wasn’t filmed at one of our bases (I think it was filmed in Hattie before it was put into service).
What I think is cool about the C-130 is it can dump its cargo at a very low altitude
( I think 30 meters) so it’s a pretty accurate drop. Cheers and happy New Year!

I think that's the one my jump-qualified Marine son was parachuting out of a couple of weeks ago.

Maybe it was - awhile back the Canadian and United States military got together for a training exercise in the Atlantic at sinking a Battleship (I think it was the Hunter). They used a couple of Canadian Frigots a US Destroyer a US diesel class submarine and 2 Canadian fighter jets. The Exercise was part of the North American first defense program. They showed the exercise on TV and that Battleship took a lot of lead before it went down. Cheers and Happy New Year!
