It's cold!

The strip clubs are great!

The beers are large and full of alcohol!

The women are hot!

Not sure if they still serve gravy on their French fries or not but it's worth a try.

Yes, it can be cold... depending on where you are (winters not as cold as places like Minnesota, ND, MI, etc though... remember a lot of canada is south of the states).

Yes, gravy is often an option for your french fries, however to be really uniquely Canadian, you need to order Poutine, which is the dish consisting of melted cheese curds, gravy, and french fries--which is particular to the French Canadian cultures. The best poutine i've ever had, however was in New Brunswick (Canada's only officially bilinual province). Northern NB is very, very francophone.

Yes, we hear all the time about how the strip clubs are so much better in Canada... funny thing is, the strippers are mostly from Quebec too. Must be the Poutine that makes them want to take their clothes off. {shrug}

Yes, the beer is stronger than down south, and alot of it is very good. I still prefer beer from the UK, Germany, & Czech though... more of the flavours I like. The "standard" beer in Canada is not very good--but the small brewery fare is excellent. I've found the same in the US... you can get good beer if you hunt around. Found a pale ale I really liked when I was in Nevada in november '08.

I like Canada for many reasons, and will likely never move back to the UK--quality of life is just better. However, the licorice, chocolate and beer leave a little to be desired, so I need to import from time to time

Electronics (i.e. DVDs, etc) are cheaper here, but I buy 95% of my clothes in the US because for some reason, the same pair of jeans or shirt is 400% more in Canada.

Oh yes... another downside to Canada is the lack of alcohol in grocery stores and corner stores (except for in Quebec). They control the sale a little too much imho. Although, maybe it's a good thing because if I can't get beer in the gas station I don't tend to drink and drive as much.

LOLOLOLOLOL! See above... the French people do!

Actually, I love poutine, however it's quite fattening.

Urban have the women taken up shaving yet? When I lived in Maine they use to go to the beach with furry armpits and in some cases furry legs.

NO! Not in some cases. As young men we would say mean stuff and looking back I'm sure they heard us and others talking about them. The Canadian men with the Speedos were just as bad-- 50lbs overweight wearing a man thong! While I can understand <---cross that out, lets use RESPECT other people's culture, I can't see vacationing in a country that makes fun of your fur.

Was in Vancouver for a few days last May and drank something called Kokanee glacier beer. The first dozen cans went down OK, but I woke up the next morning with the worst hangover ever! It tasted worse than Narraganssett Beer! Maybe I just got my hands on a bad batch.

There's a slim chance I may attend another conference (6th Annual International Congress of Peer Reviewers or something like that) in Vancouver this September, this time at the Bayshore Westin Hotel. I'll have to check out the Bayshore Westin on TripAdvisor and see how it compares with the Hyatt Regency where I stayed last time. I think I'll steer clear of the Kokanee Glacier Beer this time.

Maybe I'll meet some nice, hairy, thin-lipped Canadian gals who'll show me the sights (and help me empty my hotel room's mini-bar while watching pay-per-view porno movies on TV and sharing a late-nite room-service snack).

Well I happen to live and work in the banana belt of Canada .

I take care of some exotic out side plants – including banana trees. Cheers!
