CanDo nuclear reactors.

In my professional opinion Japan wouldn’t have the problems and worries they are having about their damaged reactors if those reactors were Cando’s.
Cando’s are simple to shut down and there is no risk of a melt down and they don’t use uranium enriched fuel rods.

Canada stopped making CanDo reactors years ago because they weren’t selling – the reason they didn’t sell is probably because one of their safety features which makes the CanDo much more expensive to maintain so Courtiers went with other type of reactors and hoped nothing bad would happen.
In light of the nuclear disaster in Japan I figure Countries are going to start thinking more about safety then cost (knock on wood – I’m tapping my head) and Canada will soon be back in the reactor business. Cheers!

Thought that I should clarify a couple things I mentioned above.
When I said CanDo nuclear reactors are easy to shut down I should of said – CanDo reactors are “relatively” easy to shut down and when I said that there is no chance of a melt down with CanDo reactors I should of said – “theoretically” there is no chance of a melt down with CanDo reactors.
What got me thinking about that was a couple of years ago scientist discover a new life form that was silicon based living in reactor coolant tubes – up until that day all known life forms were carbine based.
A carbine based life form would be dead in a day if it spent 10 minutes in a coolant tube but these silicon based life forms were thriving and multiplying.
The scientists aren’t sure were the new life forms came from but figure that maybe the life form was always here it just hadn’t been discovered or they came from cosmic seeding (they were on a meteor that hit the earth).
I’m not sure about this part but maybe this new silicon based life form can’t live in a CanDo reactor and it might be a selling point – CanDo reactors silicon based life form free. Cheers!
