A few years ago I rolled my eyes when I first heard of tan through bathing suits and even today I'm not sure if they changed the way people tan. Today I shopped at a Columbia clothing outlet and noticed that they are promoting clothing with UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor). A fair share of the clothing I bought have a rating between 30 (Good protection) and 50 (Excellent protection). Now before you think I'm a nut, I bought the clothing because it was cheap...I'm cheap plus I like pretty much everything Columbia makes.
In the past 39+ years of my life I have never once got a sunburn through my clothes and I sure the heck never got a tan through my clothes so.........does the world really need clothing with UPF?
