No Colors

I've noticed twice in the past day up here in Maine that bars are not welcoming people showing their colors (a biker wearing a jacket with a club name on it). Yesterday it started when a biker was served a beer with his wife while still wearing his jacket ..... Security asked him to leave. Today it was two police officers and a detective escorting a biker to his bike and watching him leave( will add photos later).

I just got done asking a security guy at one of the bars about the policy and he stated that it does not matter what club they are from, if they wear colors they can not get in.

Do you find this type of policy silly?

If your mother wore her " retired flower lovers bike club" jacket to an open air bar and was asked to leave due to a policy like this, would you find it silly?

I guess they do it to prevent bikers from smashing in eachother's head?? And maybe using the bar's equipment????

Note to self: Leave colors on Harley while bar-hopping in Maine. 8-)

Eco, if you like biker bars, you'd love the Sunset Grill (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-sunset-grille-annandale) in my neighborhood. Read the reviews at the link--they're hilarious! I posted about a year ago about my visit there around brunch time one Sunday. Actually, I felt kind of at home there. Didn't see any knife fights when I visited, but it was early.

They are having some bikers weekend up in OOB in a couple weeks, I would love to see them tell 100's of bikers to take off their colors.

They tend to enforce it more when there is a football game on.

My step mother said she noticed the same thing when they lived in Scotland. In the Boston area people will give people who wear New York Yankees hats or shirts a hard time but I've never heard of a fight breaking out over it.
