As I tried to become accustomed to that I heard many say "whats wrong with asking - if you don't ask how do you know" which on the surface seems admirable enough.

I employed different tactics (and trust me this is harder when your there for a longer time than 2 weeks)

- pretend you have a man back home (doesnt work cos they dont count farrin particularly white men as competition)
- pretend you have a ja man (doesnt work cos if your not seen with them they dont believe you - and if you are seen with them unless they have a bigger gun than them they see no reason not to 'steal you away' from them).
- tell them to go away your not interested ( they ask and truly dont udnerstand why)
- me nice to them and get sucked into the 'friendship' thing until you realise that over there 'friend' means fuckable.

oh gawd - looks like i'm stereotyping.....well actually tough the brown stuff that floats in the toilet cos i'm not. i'm telling the truth.

He comes out with "Gu weh gyal! Fi you the brown stuff that floats in the toilet cya mek patty!"

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry... I thought WTF?!!

I can't begin to tell you how much PSSSTTT pissed me off not just once, twice, ten times, thousand times in a year. I am so much more relaxed in england without having to endure that every single fornicating without passion day. honestly its no joke and really gets you down. but thats from my experiences of being there a while - if your going for a holiday its bearable.

When I was in Jamaica in May my friend and I got followed by this guy - who looked liked he was strung out on coke (the white powder variety) he was ok at first but when we told him we weren't interested he came really abusive and followed us screaming all the way from St James Ave' to Fisherman's point - we were lucky we saw one of the old men who is always on the street and he saved us - with a little help from a vendor. We also had to pay him for 'helping us'. You know Jamaicans don't do anything for nothing.

Honestly I tell them politely first, that I'm not looking. if they persist, they push me to a "f*ck off". Occassionally I have to deal with the crazies who stalk, chase on motorcycles, with machetes. But for the most part they take NO well.

Most men enjoy it!

Btw, I don't harass men either although there is a pride fest going on up the street tonight.

Just tell him your ex-Marine boy-friend Wahoo will be there any minute and will beat him so bad even his mama won't be able to recognize him. That should do it.
