Another bad part (good kind of bad) to Detroits internal combustion was the turbo-supercharged engines on the B-24 Liberators that were built at Detroit’s Willow Run manufacturing plant during WWW 2.
I have sat in the piolets seat of a B-24 and freely made silly engine sounds and in part I have have the skilled assemblly workers of Detroit to thank because they quickley put out air craft that could get the job done. Included a link to some old footage of the Willow Run manufactchering company during the war. Cheers!
