It Feels Like Winter

Postby ECO » Sun Sep 12, 2010 8:22 pm

It's been in the 50's the last few nights but it feels like the 30's.......maybe 50 is the new 30 (the age thingy)? I don't know if the heat wave this summer makes the 50's feel so cold or if I'm just a puss :scratchheadblue:

I can't bring myself to break out winter clothes yet, nope I can't do it must resist

I know seems like only yesterday I was wearing a t-shirt to work now I got to put on a jacket. At least I starting getting ready for winter early this year got a couple of cords of fire wood in the house so let it snow.
I thought I should say that this is the time of year were certain plants get mold and you don’t want that – also if you still have green tomatoes they might not ripping – to help you can take some banana peals or apple pieces and put them on the ground around the tomato plant as the fruit rots it produces a warm methane gas that speeds up the ripening process. (the gas doesn’t go into the tomatoes just keeps them warm) Cheers!

I live in the banana belt of Canada our average winter temperature is 10 Celsius – when tourists ask me how much snow we get here during the winter I tell them about 2 minutes worth. (it’s a bit of a lie (it’s really about a half hours worth) but tourism is just about the only industry we have left here and I want them to keep coming back). Cheers!
