Flying first class to Jamaica

I was looking at tickets for flights to Jamaica and the first class seats cost so much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$! On fly.com they cost 2x-3x as much as the cheap seats! Does anyone here fly first class? I'm stressing over paying 300 for a ticket wondering how others can afford over 1000

I use to upgrade to first class back when NWA (I think) offered it for $25-$30 right before you boarded the plane. I think they use to do it just to fill up those seats. For me, the food and drinks were worth it. Going to JA I always buy cheap seats on horrible planes and sit all the way in the back of the plane
