Found out I’m a little bit Jamaican

Postby Nanoose » Sat Feb 05, 2011 12:00 am

I know a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy who recently smuggled 10 ganja seeds into Jamaica (apparently it was fairly easy). How it makes me a little bit Jamaican is the seeds are second generation White Dragon a strain that was genetically constructed right here in District 69 on Vancouver Island. So I figure since something from my area will soon be growing in Jamaica it kind of makes me Jamaican.
White Dragon took 10 years to develop and it’s won many awards and seeds cost about $50 each on the Internet. The guy that was gifted with the seeds is getting them at a perfect time once he plants the seeds they become 3rd generation which is the begging of the strains peak potency period 4th generation will be a little bit better – 5th generation about the same then the strain looses potency each generation. (a strain lasts about 8 generations) then you have to cross it with another strain)
Pretty sure the guy will cross it with a Jamaican strain so its sort of like I’m breeding in Jamaica too.
Cheers and happy week end!

My new genetic connection with Jamaica started kicking in this morning so I thought I would down load some steel drum music.
As I watched the video and noticed the donation jar I started thinking that maybe it’s bigger then just a genetic connection – maybe it’s about promises and destiny. Awhile back I promised that I would go to the drawing board and find a formula to bring the Jamaican dollar to par with the Canadian dollar and I certainly burned the midnight oil trying to figure it out but no success. Today I thought of 2 new variables that I hadn’t considered before so I’m going back to the drawing board. (thought I would add none of my calculations include a ganja factor)
Cheers and happy week end!

Let me see if I got this correct, once you make the best strain in the world it dies off in power and that is the end of it? Or can you take strain x and y and make z again?

Would it not of been better if my above question is correct to bring x and y to Jamaica so they can make z forever?

I colour coordinated the questions and answers:

I’m flattered but it wasn’t me that made the best strain in the World - it was a World wide collection of genetic engineers - doctor’s - scientist - indoor and out door ganja growers and recreation and medical marijuana users and they share their information for the benefit and pleasure of man kind around the World.
For me (and after 6-8 years) it would be because I am an out door grower that uses seeds that I harvest each year then I cross breed with another strain after 6-8 years. It’s a bit different with indoor growers they can keep a plant growing for years and they keep cloning it.
You could make Z again but only if X and Y were the same # of generations old as they were when they first made Z ( like say strain X was a 4th generation Skunk strain and Y was a 6th generation Mighty Might. Some day you will be able go to a genetic engineer and ask for some Z DNA. There are millions of strains and they have saved DNA from lots of them.
Maybe in the long run it would have been better to bring X and Y to Jamaica and say here make Z because it might of sparked the growers intrest in genetics and he would be the one to figure out how to make ganja grow in the desert or zero gravity.Cheers!

Complex!

I don't know about Jamaica having a market for that really good type of stuff. Most of the people that cater to tourists sell mid grade stuff and will call it whatever tourists want to buy. For example if someone asks for lambs breath the seller will claim that is exactly what they have. Tourists don't know any better and it's not like they are going to ask for a refund. The heavy smokers.....the Rasta, generally don't go around buying ganja, they grow it or hit their friends up for some. So....I don't see a market for high grade assuming people would have to buy the seeds.

Not so complex because all the hard stuff is figured out for us and on the Internet.
I used to know a genetic engineer (R.I.P) and what he could do was amassing or some kind of vodoo.
His greatest achievement was getting a 60 day Mighty Might (takes 60 days from seed to harvest) to a 45 day Mighty Might. Unfortunate he wasn’t into sharing the data – I got some of the seeds for the field tests and keeping the strain pure for 6 years to see if it fizzled out (lost potency) prematurely (there was a chance that because it grew faster it would fizzle out in 4 or 5 years.
I got to keep all the weed I grew from the seeds all he asked was - I only grow it in Nanoose Bay (he designed it for this area) – I don’t sell or give any of the seeds away – and the 6th year is the last generation.

The Jamaican who received the seeds is not planning on selling the bud - it was a present he is going to grow it and smoke it all. Got a feeling he is going to have a harder time keeping the strain pure for 6-8 years. Be nice to see how that strain does in Jamaica though. Cheers!
