Getting my cat high tonite...

Postby Wahoo » Wed May 13, 2009 7:50 pm

I'd forgotten about my cat's catnip scratch box on the top shelf of my closet, but I just remembered it and put it on the floor, and she went bananas! Now she's lying over in the corner, wearing dark sunglasses and zonked out.

I tried some of that catnip myself, but it didn't do a danged thing for me... :-x

Lol, in high school I tried catnip and everything else I could roll up....nothing worked!

Did your cat get the munchies?

Back during my freshman or sophomore year of college (I forget which), during a drought, I ordered a recipe for making "opium" from regular iceberg lettuce from an ad in High Times Magazine. The recipe finally arrived and I bought about a dozen heads of iceberg lettuce and set up my "lab" in my dorm room to extract the "opium" from the heads of lettuce. Made a terrible stink! After hours of labor one Saturday (which would've been put to better use on my course work), I succeeded in extracting a small quantity of something that resembled opium, but tests revealed it didn't do a danged thing for me, except leave me with a mild headache. The foibles of youth...

Cat Cocaine! It's a wild herb like parsley and when cats play with it the dust particles get them high as hell. Catnip only works on cats and some people claim that cats have to be over a year old for it to work.

I wish I were a cat so I could simply go to PetSmart to stock up on catnip and munchables anytime I want to mellow out or get my freak on.

...and more kitty litter for the litterbox by my bed for those nights that I'm too drowsy or lazy to trek all the way to the bathroom.

In retrospect (omigod, how many times have I said that!), what I should have done was gone back to the grocery store for cherry tomatoes, celery, onions, croutons, and a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, made a big-ass salad, and invited a 3 or 4 coeds from the girls' dorm over to my room for lunch. I still wouldn't have caught a buzz, but at least I wouldn't had a 1 out of 3 or 4 chance of getting laid!

Someday LS and I will link up in Negril. And while she's staring at the Famous Negril Sunset, I'll be staring at her perfect orbs.

Open the screen door next time so I can see the plant on your porch. The cat looks yummy, try a little soy sauce and liquid smoke--- cat jerky is excellent!

It's a TOMATO plant, yo! I don't know what you thought it was. Have two cherry tomato plants and a bell pepper plant (wanted jalapeno, 'cause they're the Octocet Mom of the pepper family, but they didn't have any the day I visited the nursery), and all of them are loaded with blooms and small veggies. I figure in two weeks I'll be harvesting my first crop and cooking up a big-ass western omelet for Sunday morning brunch.

Note to self: Get vodka for bloody marys. (It's not brunch without bloody marys!)

I don't know what to do about these squirrels. They raid the sunflower seeds in the hanging bird feeder on my deck, and it's amusing watching them hanging upside down while gorging themselves on sunflower seeds. I was leaving a small pile of peanuts in the shell on my deck for the squirrels till I saw that, after eating their fill of peanuts, they were burying them in the potting soil of my plants and later digging them up, scattering dirt all over my deck. Even when I don't leave peanuts for the squirrels now, they still dig holes in the potting soil, looking for peanuts that aren't there and making a huge mess. Stoopid squirrels!

You'd think I could just let my cat out on the deck to handle the squirrel problem, but she's scared of them. She's even scared of birds. Just this weekend a chickadee swooped down while she was on the deck, and she was scratching on the screen door to get in like the fat girl in the well in Silence of the Lambs! Stoopid cat.

We'll, I've got my cat prepped for her vet visit tomorrow morning--clipped her claws, Q-tipped her ears, brushed her fur. With all the VIP treatment, I think she suspects something is afoot. The vet who's scheduled to see her is the same one who saw her on her very first visit to the vet's office when she was just a kitten. He still bears the scars from that visit. I'm not joking--that office looked like a crime scene, with his blood splatters on the door and door frame. Personally, I think he got what he deserved for so roughly grabbing the scruff of fur behind her neck. That's no way to treat a lady!
