I’m glad cops don’t have better math skills and tips on how

(full title)
I’m glad cops don’t have better math skills and tips on how not to get caught growing ganja.

It’s getting about the time of year were people will start posting pictures of the out door ganja plants they are growing on the Internet (it’s a bragging / pride thing ).
Some of them will figure that if they put on a pair of Groucho Marx glasses the cops can’t charge them with anything - which is true. But if the cops had better math skills they could use trigonometry to pin point the location of the plants and then find out who’s property they are growing on. They can only do this if the horizon is visible in the picture so my first tip is not to have the horizon in the photo.
My second tip is never use a digital camera that has been purchased with a credit card because every photo that that camera takes will have a # in the encoding that can be traced back to the credit card. holder. Cheer

Good post!

I've noticed several pictures online where people have showed outdoor fields in Jamaica that show mountains in the background. In some cases it is very easy to know where the field is. On another Jamaica forum someone was giving driving directions to a field...........along with her pictures I knew exactly where the field was.

I'm not so sure about your camera/credit card comment but a photo's exif data tells what camera was used, what lens, what power the lens was set at......and in some cases the GPS location <---that is becoming more popular. The exif data provides enough info to pretty much connect a user with a camera......so if you go around the web posting pictures of your home and then your grow op someone might be able to connect the dots.

Here is an example of exif data; http://www.flickr.com/photos/51102740@N ... 2450/meta/

Not sure if I mentioned this tip before but if you grow your ganja around alder trees it fools the inferred cameras in police helicopters. Cheers!

Do the plants really put off a different heat return than normal plants and weeds?

I know they use the cameras to detect indoor grow ops since they will show many lights are on in a home.....a room full of lights gives them a clue. Speaking of which, I wonder what they think when they fly over my home and I have all 13 of my living room lights on (4 each on ceiling fans, 4 recessed lights and 2 spot lights that I use for indoor photos). Then again I guess they can just look through my skylights and see that I'm on the up and up.

It is true about the alder tree.

Not getting behind on your hydro bill is a good tip for indoor ganja growers.

Up until a few years ago BC hydro would not report homes that used lots of electricity to the cops as suspected grow ops but if the people got behind on their payments then BC hydro would call the cops. Now a days their supposed to report suspected grow ops right away but I figure they still turn a blind eye because those grow ops probably use more electricity the 20 homes. Cheers!

Eco – if it’s just cops in helicopters that can see through your sky lights maybe you should photo copy some photos of your butt – cut them out and paste them face up on the skylights. If the cops ever say anything just tell them that there paper butter flies to keep the birds from flying into the glass. Cheers
