Breakfast in bed, no not my kids! This was my day:

Woke up at 7am when the kids felt the need to run up and down the hall yelling and playing so everyone could hear them.

Figured a wake-n-bake was in order.

Went to my mothers/sisters to see relatives that came from all over for my mothers 60th birthday party on Saturday.

Ate 2 bagels that I cooked myself......sundried tomato cream cheese on one and strawberry on the other one (like you care).

Had to wait in line for coffee so I had some red wine. I don't know why but 6-8 ounces of red wine makes me really loopy, almost like if I drank 8 or so beers.

Took a walk in the park to get some pictures of water lilies, a muskrat and a couple squirrels.

Hung out with family for a few hours and then headed home.

Played "Battleship" with my oldest daughter.

Got on the internet...........

I'll add to this that I just searched my basement for a pack of golf balls since I have not played in a year and I don't think the 8 balls in my bag will last 18 holes. I found a 15 pack of brand new balls so I should be fine except with my arm I doubt I will be able to swing a golf club.

Last game of golf I played was in 1974 or 1975. I still remember my score: 71. :-P

I think I still have a dozen Titleists still in the box.

No, not a professional golfer...though, with all my sage golf advice, I can see how you got that idea. I did play in a pro-am golf tournament once, though, back in the sixties. As I recall, Curtis Strange (who hadn't yet turned pro) won that tournament. Also played in a number of Jaycee tournaments when I was a teenager. Although I didn't make it to the Virginia state Jaycee tournament, my best friend did and played in the same foursome with Lanny Watkins, who won the tournament. Lanny had a foul mouth, as I remember. His younger brother, Bobby, also played in that tournament.

Bajanbabe, I bet you have no idea who Curtis Strange and Lanny Watkins are, do you? Eco probably knows who they are, though this was a long time ago now. After all, both Curtis and Lanny now may occasionally be seen making guest appearances as commentators at seniors pro golf tournaments.

Hmm, should I post my golf pictures from today or e-mail them to Tinks & BB since they are both golf fans.

Just mention how many strokes it takes us to finish, and we may have a couple of converts. :-P

Tinks, don't be mad. We really do appreciate your Father's Day post. I was knackered all day Sunday from all the driving and moving on Friday and Saturday, but the day ended in fine fashion. Had a most enjoyable dinner at The Outback with both sons and daughter-in-law. When the waiter brought the check, son grabbed it, but he let go when I tightened the choke hold I had on his neck.

For what's it's worth, I thought the post was a nice gesture even though I am not a fan of the bullshit holidays.

Is this what you call an apology?

I do agree though I am not a fan of the holidays either.

HECK NO! Aside from the fake "I'm sorry" comments that people make all the time when they do stuff like bump into a stranger I've only said I'm sorry (and meant it) twice this year......yeah I keep count because saying you are sorry is a sign of weakness.

Yeah right! Wuss in disguise.

In private I'm soft but not in public..........that's different than being a wuss which is the same as a puss(y) and that I am not. :-)

When I was a kid, my dad sometimes played at Swannanoa, a small course near Skyline Drive in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, where the golfers frequently have to dodge rattlesnakes! Rttlesnakes and beer are a bad combination.

Actually hitting that little ball is fun when it goes where you want.

It's uncanny how golf and sex are so much alike--hitting the sweet spot, getting it in the hole, washing your balls, getting a good grip, keeping score... I don't know which I miss most.
