Guess the weight of GG’s baby contest

I thought that it would be fun to have a contest to see who can come closest to the weight
of GG’s baby when it is born (in about a week). To make it more interesting I will donate $20 to the favorite charity of the JAB memerber that comes the closest.

My guess is 6 pounds and 11 ounces.

I'm not much of a betting man, but I'll take that bet...and double it if I turn out to be the worst guesser. Just as long as I don't have to donate to any organization that rhymes with Foctors Without Zorders. I made a small donation to them a couple of years ago, and they've been stalking me relentlessly--by phone, e-mail, and snail mail--for another donation ever since!

According to GG's facebook page she is currently in labor! No clue why she is posting on facebook while giving birth but to each their own.

Those epidural blocks are wondrous things...and they do totally block the pain...until they start wearing off.

I had one when I had arthroscopic knee surgery, and the epidural worked like a charm--no pain or sensation whatsoever...till it started to wear off before the surgical procedure was completed, then I wasn't a happy camper.

I would've been happier with a shot of Demerol...

Well GG had her daughter it’s weight was 3640 grams and 49 cm long - not sure what that is in Inpereal mesurment because it is Sunday and I don’t feel like converting. Cheers!

Hip hip hurrah for GG! I did a quick metric conversion and calculated her daughter weighs a little over 80 pounds. Wait a second...that can't be right, can it? I must've forgot to carry the naught. I think 3,640 grams is something like 8 pounds 2 ounces. But I could be wrong, math's not my forte.

Even tho my math sux, I do know, with my expertise in metric conversions being a board-certified editor in the life sciences, that 1 inch equals exactly 2.54 centimeters, so I calculate that 49 centimeters equates to 19.2913582677165354330708 inches.

I just hope there's enough room on the birth certificate for all them numbers.

Well we still have to figure out the weight so I know what charity to send $20 to – its probably around 8 pounds. Its still Sunday so I don’t want to convert.
