Lol, I agree with your view. Not sure if it's mother's day here in the states or not and I really don't care if it is.

I agree with you Eco and Bajanbabe. Its a bit like Valentines day a complete hype designed to feed off emotions.

However, Mothers day does indeed feed off my emotions and I hate it with a passion. At least Xmas celebrates EVERYONE getting presents lol (who the fornicate without passion was jesus? lol)....birthdays are about SELF!!!! Yeh! gimme the presents!!!....

valentines day.....well thats just unfair cos what if you dont have a significant other?
mothers day....how do they think it feels for a motherless person to get through the day with endless crap about mothers?
fathers day ....ditto!

I think they should have an Aunties day - then I may participate :-)

Thanks for the wishes Tinks!

I've had such a lovely day - relaxing... couldn't even pull out my mobile fone to send the UK angels their HMD wishes.... and yep I know some of you are not mothers - I see this day as a celebration of women... so usually (just not this year 'cos that rave last night was WICKED!!) I send messages to all the women in mine and my daughters life.... and since the UK angels are my sisters and therefore Tiri's honorary Aunties, y'all were supposed to get a message too!

I ended up Googling it and we don't have mother's day here for another couple of months. I thought it seemed odd that my sister did not hit me up for any money for a present for our mother. Plus since we generally plant our flower garden around that time it just felt way too early since it's still cold out.

Thanks babe - but the truth is...women who CAN'T have children don't necessarily feel like women. And the women who don't WANT children ....other people don't necessarily treat them like women. I come into many categories and personally don't feel like celebrating.

Mothers day is for mothers....so happy Mothers day to YOU and your beautiful daughter....

LOL I didnt mean it to sound self pitying - i meant to re-iterate that it is a money-making venture that feeds into and fucks up with peoples emotions. I don't want aunty cards or second best cards. I'd rather mothers day was for the mothers and I'm quite happy lying in bed all day doing nothing while everyone else goes through all the socially constructed get togethers.
