Introducing Myself...

Just found this little board and thought I'd jump in. I have been traveling to Jamaican since 1983. For the past 11 years I have been doing what's become known as "extended stays" on island, specifically in Negril. For the past several years I've been living in Negril for 2-3 months at a time in the winter. I rent a home in a private yard and have a close relationship with my friends and community there. It is my second home.
So while I probably won't be very helpful with questions about the beach (I'm a West Ender and have been since the first time I stepped foot in Negril) or about hotels and such I'm a great resource for off the beaten path things to do and great places to eat other than the "obvious".

I've been fortunate in my 27 years of traveling to the island to have enjoyed some pretty unique experiences. I started blogging about it (and other unique experiences in my life) a few years back but just changed over to a new format.

I hope you enjoy my stories and my photographs and I look forward to participating is great discussions about our favorite place to travel.

Nineteen eighty-three--the year of my nuptials! Ahhh, the memories! Jamaica is my buddy Eco's second home, too. He's there now, sloshing thru bat dung in the caves of the Cockpit Country--waiting for his trip report w/pics.
