I looking at a trip mid April to St Ann and Negril. Since I hate to count down months I'll pull the trigger 3-4 weeks ahead of the date.

Wow! That's a long break inbetween visits!
Are youu looking forward to it?

I know I am stating the bleedin obvious, but I'm not gonna see you Image

This trip has been a long time coming. Quite frankly, I didn't think I'd ever be able to return to JA. But, time . . . and a lot of conversation (16 months' worth) certainly heals.

I'm very excited! Won the bid for Rooms on the Beach tonight. Gonna buy my flight in the next couple of weeks.

Lilly, It must be one short flight for you! I'm glad I don't live in FL as I would go for the weekends.

Not really, Eco. The only direct flight is on AirJamaica -- and they're too undependable for me.

I usually fly Spirit or American -- both of which fly from Orlando to either Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, with a short layover, and then onto MoBay. I can usually get there in 4 or 5 hours . . . coming back takes longer (longer layovers). I can usually get some decent rates. I've flown as cheap as $198 roundtrip, and the most I've paid is $350.

Lilly, I can fly from Boston for around $300 round trip. The last time I went I had two layovers on the way down and one on the way back. I checked for April and it looks like I might only have one layover each way. Generally I use my Amex points for flights so my flights are kind of free.

I still need to figure out my exact dates and figure out who all is going and if there are any planned get togethers.

Wow....how do you get such a long vacation? My job would probably fire me after more than one week off for vacation. :(

I love the United States but we don't get much vacation.

the brown stuff that floats in the toilet Bajan! If england stopped work when it rained we would never be at work! Damn Barbados sounds good. Think I need to visit some more caribbean countries other than Jamaica.

I get roughly the same as Tinks and the beauty of working for local govenment is in order to get the whole of the xmas holidays you only have to use a few days leave.

I get 292 hours (including a week I bought) -- or 36 days. I never use the week I buy -- I roll it over into money two weeks before Christmas (nice Xmas club, LOL).

I tend to take 3 individual weeks off to coincide with my daughters' time out of school . . . and then schedule long weekends.

I should start looking for some computer work in Barbados. How are the girls and how is the food down in Barbados? I hope I won't miss these Texas girls and Mexican food too much. :)

I get 29 days per year plus Bank Holidays. And I still have 6 days from last year, hence the 3 weeks in JA. I find that 2 weeks is not long enough and 4 weeks is too long. :D

Three weeks in Jamaica? Damn!!! I had to fit Montego Bay, Negril, Savanna-La-Mar, Black River and Kingston all in one week. I was expecting to hit Ocho Rios, Boston Bay, Port Antonio and Yallahs during my time in Kingston but that hurricane hit and I ended up still enjoying Kingston.

I couldn't imagine what I would do for 3 weeks in Jamaica. I would get fat off of Jerk Pork and actually have time to relax. Jamaica was fun but I never got to relax while I was there. Too damn excited to see what the country was all about.

Cool about bringing your husband home! It seems like I hear 1 bringing them home story for every 100 having a hard time bringing them home story. Be sure to post the details of how you made it happen.

BTW, start a intro thread in the introduction area so everyone knows you are here.

I finally got the nerve to tell my wife about my plans for Jamaica since it will disrupt her work having to drop off and pick up the kids. Come to find out she is taking off April 15th-26 from work so I can now set my plans! My friends are going to hold a concert over in Negril on the 11th so I'll miss that but they will have more so no big deal.

Now I'm a happy camper!
