Just clockin in...

Postby JaBajan_UK » Fri Feb 19, 2010 7:05 am

Hey everyone!

I aint abandoned the forum
Went to Kingston, saw my baby but unfortunately we were unable to get married!!
I could only contribute so much after having paid £1100 for the flights for me and my son, plus money to live for the month so it was up to him and his wages to pay for the wedding expenses. But his boss (who is also his cousin :steamingears:) didnt pay him money he had owed and had mounted up since MAY LAST YEAR! I was just pissed and said to him as of 2010 he better find different employment...so at the moment he's burning cds and dvds to sell and so far so good.

So plans will now be on hold until i finish university summer 2011 so he may not be over here until 2012 (if we're lucky!) if the visa application goes our way.

Anyway i hope everyone's xmas and new year went well.
Im job hunting so i can save towards my next visit LOL.

Welcome back!

That must of sucked to spend all that money and to not end up getting married.........but you can't beat spending a month in Jamaica

I don't know any better but would it of helped with the visa process if you did marry him while you were down in Jamaica?

Well the most 'successful' visa for Jamaica nationals wanting to enter the UK is the spouse visa which is why so many sham marriages have been occurring in recent years. But whilst all these fake ones have been approved its made it much harder for genuine applicants. Even if we had got married we wouldnt be able to submit the application until i have a reliable income and 6 months payslips to show. As a student im not working yet as i have my little boy so the earliest we can look at will be 2012 which is with the hope that upon graduation i would have secured employment within the first 6 months.

Joel has suggested that we apply for the fiance visa but even that to me might be a huge gamble with money we dont have. I would rather wait until we are married and he can apply for one settlement visa and done. I joined another forum re immigration and i have to say i do feel quite disheartened by it all...so much lies and deceit to enter the country has just made it soooo hard for others. The amount we have to demonstrate is crazy!

I guess on the plus side we will have been together some years by the time we will be ready financially.
I could go on forever but imma shut up now LOL ...

Good to see you posting again. You were in Jamaica for a month? I'm envious. I don't think I've ever done anything for a whole month. I did something for a whole hour once, but I was young and had stamina. :jestercolor:
