Just when you think you might get a little bit ahead...

Life slaps you upside the head and gives you a reality check! The plumber just left after replacing the plumbing under both bathroom sinks and giving me another good reaming. Thursday is payday, and I was hoping to sock away a substantial portion of this paycheck into savings, but it's gone to the plumber instead. I was on the verge of attempting to do the work myself, but everything I've touched lately seems to turn to brown stuff floating in the toilet, so I decided to call the plumber and let the experts take care of it. No doubt--even though I'm boo-hooing about the cost--the wisest decision I've made all week.

I'll trade you your plumbing bill for my car & truck bills this month.

If you lived closer I would offer to fix your sinks for free, I'm really good at plumbing if you don't counts the leaks the first 2-3 times we pressure up the pipes.

I've laid my share of pipe, too, when I was younger. :-P Ahh, the memories... ;-)

I have AHS (American Home Shields) and it has come in handy. For 45 dollars a month I don't have to worry about what if the plumbing, air condition, appliances, wiring or sealing fans need repair. If they do, I only pay service charge of $60. If they are not able to fix it, I get a new replacement. Had to replace the motor to my AC last fall and the cost was $500 for the part alone. $60 was nothing in comparison. I live in FL and without AC you can feel like a roast duck.

I haven't heard of AHS, but I'll definitely check it out. I had my AC motor replaced a few years ago, too, but soon had to have the entire AC/heating system replaced. I'm still in a state of shock over what that cost! Also had my circuit breaker panel replaced not long ago. I've owned cars that cost less than that bill! At times such as this I wish I'd been born rich instead of so darned good looking.
