Ya it’s a comfort knowing even if the power goes out for weeks in the winter we will be warm and not eating frozen food. We have been heating our home with fire food for about 15 years (about 6 to 8 cords a year). The only trouble is the trees are farther down the hill now a days so it’s more work bringing them up. But it only costs me about $20 a year to heat my place (gas and oil for my chain saw.
Heating my home with fire wood really made me respect the settlers – they didn’t have chain saws probably took them days of hard word to do what I can do in a few hours with my chain saw – I love it and nic named it Chromey. Cheers!
