Love, dreams and new beginnings!! Jamaica 2009 Trip Report!

Postby Batty_gyal » Sun Oct 04, 2009 5:59 pm

Hello all!!

Time to begin the best trip report I will ever do hehehehe!! Please bear with me as it might be a little slow coming, however I promise to make it quicker than last time hahaha!!!!

As most of you know I got married on this trip...and fabulous Eco took the pictures for which I owe him still the biggest bottle of rum ever. This trip had alot of ups and downs, and a few mishaps but overall it was the most amazing trip ever. In a general sense...when you travel with different people...you experience different things. This time I travelled with my best friend, a new friend and for part of the trip my family. I felt like I lived there these past three weeks roughly versus being on vacation. I had a great time...and a great wedding!! Sooooooooooooo...here goes..........

Katie and I were dropped off at the Calgary by my friend Jess and her new husband. She decked me out in bride to be necklaces and a tiara lol. We were dressed in comfy clothes and no makeup and tired as hell!!!

Toronto Airport seemed to be forever. We were there for ten or twelve hours. Slept in a booth at a close food place...froze to death and grabbed random articles of clothes out of our suitcase to cover our freezing bodies. Got up in the morning and got ready to get on a plane and head to paradise!

The plane ride was actually not as bad as I expected, although it seemed to go on forever!!! Katie and I were just both anxious to get there and see our men. I had wedding bells dancing around my head....and so much love overflowing...couldn't wait to be in Ainsleys arms!!!

The plane ride was kinda cool though in a way...some beautiful views from the plane.

FINALLY...FINALLY we arrived. I was just about busting at the seams with excitement. The plane pretty much taunted us. Did a few laps around before deciding to land. We were ready to murder the pilot and land it ourself if we had to at that point hahaha. Didn't take any pics of walking out and seeing the boys oddly..guess we were to busy loving up on them. I about died of happiness when I saw Ainsley...was in his arms about two seconds later. Never been happier!!:D

After the intial chaos of the airport...we got in the car and headed to Ochi where we had dinner waiting on us cooked by the beautiful babylove....a relative of Reeva's. We ended up getting there a fair bit later than expected due to a bunch of unplanned stops but finally we reached Mammee Bay where we were staying and I loved it...er loved it more after some some bed rearranging hahaha. They put two beds in the same room...not something we were ok with hahaha!

The car ride. I was overwhelmed...but so happy. We all were!

Us girls at the house Katie and I rented in Mammee Bay. Us three muskateers were pretty excited to be together. We hit it off right away. Was so nice to be on a trip with people my age..no rudeness intended...but it was a neat experience. All us younguns released in Jamaica!! Pics of us girls in my room!!:D

So some of my stuff might be out of order because I was there nearly three weeks and can't remember what day we did everything.

This is the house we stayed at in Mammee Bay. It was right across from a bar so the front of our house was kinda the local hang out spot. We soon learned to make sure all the curtians were firmly drawn when changing or showering. A few times Ainsley opened them while I was in the shower and I pranced out only to discover I was on display..." hiss hiss"...good lawd boys!!

The second day there we realized all three of us young couples need to grocery shop. We planned to eat alot of dinners togeather so we figured we'd group shop and carpool. The boys dragged us all around town to make sure we got good prices on everything.

We went to a couple nearby beaches. The James Bond beach and another one. Two of my favourite spots around Ochi. The one is a bit of a steep climb down...but Katies boyfriend has big muscles LOL...so he was kind of our saving grace while climbing down. We all crammed into the car to get there. Ainsley was driving so I got the front seat..which was probably better since the other two girls were smaller than me. They did look kinda miserable in the back though hahahaha. There was no where to park along the highway so Ricky had to get a friend of his to drive the car back and then pick us up.

you can park on the side of the road by the zipline.....its across from there. the way ash went down is much steeper, if you go down a little further its much easier to get to

If my memory is correct, the whole left side of the road in that area going toward Ochi has barbed wire or that stuff they use at prisons to keep people away. Are you folks climbing through that stuff or is there an opening.........or maybe my memory is bad. :scratchheadblue:

its down further past dunns river...the mystic mountain zipline big parking lot is there.....there are openings in the fence and you climb down....easiest way down is near the entrance closest to ochi to get down....
