A tsunami warning was in place for Haiti, Cuba, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic, with the first waves predicted to hit Haiti shortly.

From another source, Jamaica was also issued a tsunami warning

I was just reading a thread on another Forum about Pat Robertson a Christian televangelist that stated on his daily TV program "The 700 Club" that the Haitians brought the recent devastating earthquake on themselves when they allegedly made a "pact with the devil".

There were a few youtube videos about it but I didn’t watch them so I don’t know if this is a fact that was said on public television but if it is he should loose his broadcasting license and his congregation should switch channels.

Nano, I am not with the 700 club BUT I have been struggling with similar thoughts. I am not Christian either but I believe in the Universe.. if I was a loyal subject it would mean that I would believe they have indeed brought it upon theirselves. Nature strikes way more in countries where there is war and other violent activities... Obviously there must be some kind of meteorological explanaition, atleast I think there is.... I hope there is :-S (think I once knew what it was too, blame it on Herb)

Other than those thoughts... It is so sad to see this happen. Haiti has been in a lot of bad luck.. My positive thoughts are with them

So how can you prove him wrong? The Pat dude I mean! I think ALL those diseases exist for a reason... It is so you will get one partner, marry and make babies... The results of almost every STD (if left untreated) is invertility... must be a reason for that! That''s one of the recent discoveries I have made I believe we are here to reproduce.. and to be invertile would mean that you would be useless to fulfil your purpose. So to become invertile due to a STD would be a punishment to either pre-marital sex or adultry. (Don't ask me what the reason is for people who were born invertile because I dont understand but I am sure there is either a logical or biblical explanaition for that as well.... He calls it God, I call it the Universe.. There is a reason why there is such a thing as AIDS.... I was told once it is because a man had sex with an ape... and that is how it started, wether it was invented for gay people, to not have people engage in sexual activities with animals.. or whatever reason I dunno but there IS a reason...

Well I would really like to be able to prove to you that he is wrong but I can’t right now because I can’t find my slide ruler. ( I prove things with mathematics)
As far as the Universe goes – it’s a little bit more complicated.. Some people believe that the Earths core is not molted metal – it is a crystalline Entity that is connected to the Universe ( which is also some kind of crystalline Entity and it can change or destroy things).
As far as the reason why bad things happens goes I usually don’t need my slide ruler or do I blame Crystalline Entity’s - I just point my finger at man kind..
I heard that France tested a under water nuclear device shortly before the Hattie earthquake. (the test might of caued the quake)
Also - Globule warning and pollution is probably the reason behind the increases in sever weather changes around the world..

Well at the risk of scaring you any further – it seems that the animals are getting fed up too. BC Cougar attacks are becoming more and more common. (the 4 legged cougar).
Their even attacking groups of people with dogs things like that were on heard of years ago

I think what Pat Robertson meant was that God is punishing Haiti for not having a bobsled team. How can you trust a nation with NO bobsled team?
