Magnitude 5.9 earthquake in Virginia

Postby Wahoo » Tue Aug 23, 2011 3:03 pm

Epicenter reported to be Mineral, Va (80-some miles south of Washington, DC). Feared for a few uneasy minutes our building might collapse, Fortunately, I just checked and my underwear is still clean.

It might have been a 5.8 or 5.9 on the Richter scale, but it was a solid 10 on the Wahoo pucker factor scale!!! :yipes:

There were some reports that the Washington Monument might be tilting, but Wahoo's Monument usually has a slight tilt, too, and hasn't collapsed yet, so I'm not worried. :jestercolor:

Well maybe the quake pushed up or uncovered some arrow heads for you to find. Cheeers!
What's pushing us apart isn't loneliness what's holding us together isn't love. Listen to the man who's been touched all his life yes he's the one they call the fool. Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.

Some of us actually felt it in Boston! I was sitting in a door way and ironically a motorcycle was driving by when everything started to shake. At first I thought the motorcycle had some special gear to cause tons of vibrations. Since I just read about some cop cars having these thingys that send out vibrations to alert people to turn down the music and pull the fuc over I thought he had one.....but they take up almost an entire trunk of a cop car. For an hour I was wondering WTF until someone called me with the news and I confirmed the time.....

Glad to hear you are ok Wahoo even though somewhere on this forum I'm in you will for you stash of unused condoms or empty beer cans......

Sheesh, Eco, I forgot all about my last will & testament. Besides, I can't be held responsible for promises made while I'm three sheets to the wind. If memory serves correctly, I believe I bequeathed to you my empty Red Stripe bottles and unused rolling papers. Hell, I'll throw in the unused condoms, too. I tried to gift my unused condoms to my college boy son when he came over for tacos before he left for his senior year, but he looked at the tattered unopened 3-pak and said "What the hell is Spermicide?" and tossed them back to me. I can't even give these things away!

While off topic on condoms, college boy son stayed with his mom this summer break, and she was snooping through his things and found his condoms and threw them out. He asked her, "Would you rather I brought home a baby than a sheepskin when I graduate next year?"
