Do men need male reproductive rights?

Postby Rose21 » Thu Oct 29, 2009 12:47 pm

And if so, what would they be?

Women has always had the upper hand wether or not to keep a pregnancy. What if the man don't want the child, should he force her to have an aborton, then that would be completely illegal. But what if he is anti-obortion or has the strong desire to raise a child himself but the woman wants an obortion, then he should be able to legally mediate with her and reach a compromise (legally binding) to finance the prgnancy, and take the baby entirely upon birth.

Personally, I think if a man is not interested in children he should make it clear to his partner before a pregnancy happen and assist as much as possible with preventing pregnancy. Sometines even if you try to prevent a pregnancy you may get a surprise...condom don't alway work.

Ooooh man that is a tough tough question!!! Its hard to say because its a womens body, and giving a man rights to have a say in whether to keep or abort a child...it takes away the womens rights to her own body. But I don't see why they couldn't reach an agreement. What if the man has a wife who is willing to take the child and raise it as her own...or a girlfriend who will, or either of the two who can't have children. Or what if he wants to be a single dad. I think that's something that he should have a choice on, AS LONG as the women is in agreement.

But in agreement with your bottom statement..PREVENTION IS THE KEY!!! Suprises happen..so why take further risk by being careless!

I agree with Tinks on this issue...

Given that women are the carriers, suffer the stretch marks and morning sickness and swollen ankles... if children are not on your agenda then you need to protect yourself!!

You can get contraceptives that last in the body up to 3 years - no "I forgot to take my pill' excuse available and I'm sure they are strong enough to cope with Antibiotics....

Our bodies, our temples, our choices....

With that knowledge, if a woman finds herself pregnant when she didn't want to, she gave her rights up to the man she breed for... and if he wants the kid she should have it and give it to him....

Your so right Tinks, we can't always leave the controceptive responsibility to the men, we as women have to play our part.
