A Nanoose Bay Christmas miracle?

Postby Nanoose » Sat Dec 18, 2010 10:21 pm

A couple of Feasts of Stephen’s ago a Nanoose Bay house cat called Wenceslas looked out the window at the deep, crisp and even snow that lay round about - when 3 orphaned baby raccoons came in site. Brightly shone the moon that night tho the frost was cruel - but Wenceslas went out to rescue the raccoons. On the way back to the house the baby raccoons got too cold to go any further so Wencelas said to the raccoons – see my foot steps tread thou in them boldly thou shalt find the winter's rage freeze thy blood less coldly.
That’s a true story except the cats name and maybe it wasn’t the Feast of Stephens
( but it was during Christmas) and I can’t proof that foot step thing.
Cheers and happy week end

You been into the BC Nebula again, Nanoose? That's a nice story. I got a Christmas story, too. Was awakened in the wee hours of the morning last night by a strange yelping sound. "What the hell is that?" I wondered, "A dog? A cat? Some kind of bird?" It was a vaguely famailiar sound, but in my groggy condition, I couldn't quite place it. Then it stopped, and I went back to sleep. I was just nodding off when the weird yelping started again. I jumped out of bed and look out the window, but didn't see anything. Then some movement...and I saw the source of the yelping...a fox scurrying away, followed by its big tail, across the snow. It looked like a gray fox, but that was probably due to the darkness, as there're mostly red foxes around here. Struck me as odd that a fox was venturing into my highly populated neighborhood, but many of my neighbros have cats (I've now got three myself), and I reasoned that it probably smelled the cats and was hoping to score a cat dinner.

3 cats.....you some sort of lesbian?

Fox= they love cats. IMHO animal shelters should keep them on staff to control over populations.

Raccoons= they are some of the coolish animals to watch in nature. Back when I use to hunt they could come around my tree stands and play around. I really wanted to adopt one but I got mixed reviews on keeping them as pets. Oddly enough skunks (legal in some states) make excellent pets.

What got me thinking about this story is – along the highway there is a dead full grown male raccoon but some body tied its back legs to a wooden pole. When I first seen it I thought maybe it was something innocent like a teenage boy had tied it up and chased a girl with it to try an get her attention. But now I think it’s something worse like there is a physco in the neighborhood.
(this is off topic but a week ago they found another severed foot in a running shoe and once again the RCMP don’t suspect foul play)

The Christmas miracle orphaned baby raccoons are now full grow and way bigger then the cat but they are one big happy family. Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Once during the Christmas season I was sitting on a bench in the middle of Central Park in Nanoose Bay and I was trying to convince myself that there was no way that I was capable of taking care of a ladies special Christmas wish. And then I started thinking that since I didn’t even have a cherry picker there was no reason to even think about trying to take care of the wish.
Then I said to myself – hey wait a minute that’s tooth fairy talk your Paul Bunion you will find a way to take care of the ladies special Christmas wish – which was that a big dead alder tree wouldn’t fall on the trailer and ruin Christmas and New Year. (it was the kind of tree that a logger would call a widow maker)
That’s a true story except I wasn’t sitting on a bench in Central park. And I didn’t say hey wait a minute that’s tooth fairy talk your Paul Bunion – I said hey wait a minute that’s tooth fairy talk your F-in Paul Bunion. And maybe the only way I took care of it was with the horse shoe up my butt – 2 days later a wind blew the top part of the tree off and it was no longer a real danger to safely fall.
Also because I don’t want to get a lump of coal I confess - I stole some of the content of this post from the movie Miracle on 42nd street. Cheers and Merry Christmas!

This will be the 3rd Christmas Eve in a row that a friend of the family sings with a Christmas choir - which I think is some kind of Christmas miracle partly because he can’t carry a tune (so why would they let him in the choir?) and partly because 5 years ago he was a crack head.
(in a Christmas nut shell and lovingly said) what made our friend get off the crack was – robbing the wrong person one Christmas season - receiving head injuries and going to jail - then because of the head injuries not being able to think strait and falling for the old jail house Christmas tradition of bend down and pick up the Christmas soap “please”.
And I don’t really care about all that because there have been past Christmases were he helped me point out to my sons that it would be illogical not to believe in Santa Clause and all he stands for - or help me throw them off track when they started to guess what they would be getting for Christmas. Cheers and Merry Christmas!
