North American First Nations:

Postby Nanoose » Sun Dec 26, 2010 8:15 pm

When I was a young Buck and I listened to Paul Revere and the Raiders song –
Reservation it would bring a tear to my eye because of what was done to my people.
Actually I wasn’t really sure if I was aboriginal because I’m a Bastard but I like to think that if mother was aboriginal her Indian name would have been Loose Goose - so there’s a chance my father’s aboriginal.
I also like to think that if I am half aboriginal my father was from the Nanoose Bay Band - who were experts at tracking and camouflage and they were the only Band living along the Straight of Georgia that didn’t get attacked by the war canoes from the West coast looking for slaves and concubines. (they would set their tracking skills on reverse and didn’t leave a sign that Nanoose Bay was inhabited so the war canoes just past by.
Going to add that “nanoose” was their word for “friendly” so probably when they seen the war canoes coming they would shake their head and say nanoose which probably meant - “no friendly” Anyway I find aboriginal history and their culture interesting so that’s why I made this thread. Cheers and happy New Year!
What's pushing us apart isn't loneliness what's holding us together isn't love. Listen to the man who's been touched all his life yes he's the one they call the fool. Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.

Had a long layover at Vancouver Airport before my departure flight after the conference I attended in 2008, but I really didn't mind because it gave me hours to leisurely enjoy the magnificent exhibits of aboriginal sculpture and art at the airport. My kind of airport!
