Peace, love, ganja and the all mighty dollar.

There is a Island in the Straight of Georgia that wasn’t inhabited until hippies / draft dodgers settled there in the early 60s. It turned out to be hippy heaven because it was secluded, had its own little tropical micro climate, mineral water, rich soil and a peat moss bog - so they started to growing vegetables and ganja and eventually they got in to the ganja biz. Eventually that Island got the reputation that if you go there looking to steal ganja plants your dead and at that time I wondered where did the peace and love go.
About 15 years ago our local news paper started running articles about the cops seizing plants on that Island and eventually a rumor started that the ganja growers on that Island made a deal with the cops – we will give you some plant to smile at the camera with and to show the public your doing your job – and you leave us alone (some people say that there were under tones of leave us alone – or else).
There is a happy ending – some of those hippies / draft dodgers were quite brilliant and they joined in on he war on drugs and developed lots of strains of medical marijuana.. Cheers!
