Jamaican Food in Providence RI

Postby ECO » Mon Jun 29, 2009 5:47 pm

After reading the Jamaican Patty thread here today I knew I could not wait until my trip later this year to have a few. A quick Google search located a Jamaican Restaurant in Providence Rhode Island, about 25 minutes from my home. Even though the menu http://www.tinasjamaican.faithweb.com/custom2.html was a little more pricey than what we pay in Jamaica for food I decided to give it a try.

Pictures soon come.

TINA'S JAMAICAN CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT

Here is a picture of the inside of the place, I could not get an outside photo due to the rain and it is on a very busy street....with crappy signs....that cost me a $30 parking ticket.

While we (my mother and one of my daughters) waited for our food we shared a chicken patty, a beef patty and coco bread. Somehow we managed to ripe the coco bread to pieces before I could get a picture of it. This was my first time eating coco bread and now I'm addicted!

Picture of the patties when I managed to stop eating them for 20 seconds so I could grab a photo:

Okay, after my obligatory slam at Rhode Island, I must say I'm drooling after seeing those pics. I'll trade you a case of Red Stripe for a dozen of those patties.

I think that would be a deal since a dozen of them would only cost me $24..........hmmm I wonder if they have bulk discounts.

Did you get any pics of Tina? I'm looking for a woman who can cook like that...bonus points if she's easy on the eyes and a compulsive cleaner.

Here's what you do:

1. Go to Jamaica

2. Find a busy dance hall with a bunch of good looking single women.

3. Yell "I live in the US and need a wife".

4. Back up a little...........hire security to keep the single women from fighting over you.

5. Pick your bride to be.

6. Spend months and $1000's of dollars getting her into the US.

7. Ask her to do your dishes.

8. Back up a little......take 3 steps back before you ask that so the slap does not sting your face as much.

9. Put on some gloves

10. Wash your own dishes.

Or save the ten step process and buy paper plates or get a dog to lick your plates clean.

Why didn't I think of that? Maybe my new daughter-in-law will let me borrow her boxer once a week to lick the plates clean. I'm gonna give her a call.

Rhode Island has huge range of quality restaurants and we visited number of restaurants during trip. Without doubt Tina's Caribbean Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Rhode Island area. The foods variety, services, atmosphere…everything is priceless, that we ever got there.
