Secrets Resorts- $$$$$ WTH?

Postby ECO » Sat Jan 02, 2010 6:21 pm

Playing around with a 12 day vacation including airfare I found the cheapest package at $1000 and the most expensive at $13,000. Secrets St James Montego Bay All Inclusive ($13,000) and Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay All Inclusive ($9600) what is their charm to cost $8600-$12000 more than a cheap place?

Lol, AI food can't be worth $1000 a day so what is the Secret at Secrets? :scratchheadblue:

They are not going to tell me their secret on their website, I need inside info! Even if they included free herb, coke, hookers and limo service it would still not equal the extra $1000 a day. I guess since I don't have a 13k budget I'll go to my grave without knowing the secret :-(

That's probably where US politicians and their entourages stay (at taxpayer expense) between their frequent junkets to Hawaii.

Let's break that down. Some guys (nobody I know, of course) pay up to $200 per hour for "adult entertainment."

$200 x 24 hours = $4,800 per day.

$4,800 x 12 days = $57,600.

$13K for 12 days may be a bargain! :-o

LMAO! I guess it makes that Jamaica Sex Tours place that I linked to a few months back seem like a real bargain as well.

To play with your numbers:

Based on $200 per hour the average man only needs it 3-4 times a day at 15 minutes each= 1 hour per day. That leaves enough money for 5 of his friends to join in.

Using Jamaican prices, a sex worker makes around $100 a day on a good day, all the ganja you can smoke in a day might be $25 and I have no clue how much coke cost but lets say $75. So it costs $200 to keep a man knee deep in ganja, coke and punani (sp)...........a 400% profit margin leaves plenty of profit! I'm in the wrong business!

I have found information by Google about Excellence Punta Cana resorts in St James Montego. I have looked photos and this resort’s room is really beautiful and facility is also well. You just type on Google “Resorts in st james montego bay” and you can get lots of info about their resorts.

i dont get why people need the pay that much to stay on a resort, i guess the services, food and accomodation have to be exceptional in order to be worth that much. You should contact them se if you can tour it while your in JA next!!! Would be interesting to see why it deserves the price tag it has

I just checked on their website and they are only $250-$450 a night for the Jamaica locations. The first link of this thread must of went to a site that was looking to get rich off of each booking.

Damswell, I use to think people were fools for spending $100 or $200 a night at a resort but now my thinking is going the other way in some cases. Assuming:

$15 for breakfast
$25 for lunch
$50 for dinner
15 mixed drinks @9.00 each= $135.00
Water sport rental @ $40 (hobie cat)
The total per day would be $265 per day............in most cases the resorts would be cheaper for people who drink or eat expensive food. My April vacation is averaging $67 per day for food, beers and lodging.....$39 a day excluding beer. Then again I'm staying in a little cabin without a ocean view because I don't see the sense in paying for an ocean view and I don't want to be in a big hotel with tourist. I'm also planning on eating Ital food and not lobsters, steak or the imported food that the AI's serve.

It totally makes sense if you spend that much money per meal and drinks etc...for sure....

And its all about what your looking for cause if you like extravagant meals and drink alot of mixed fancy drinks then yes its worth it.

Im not a big hotel fan either(not in Jamaica anyway)!!!

Speaking of big hotels & AI's, I still :scratchheadblue: when people go to Jamaica to stay in them without exploring the country. Mexico is much cheaper than Jamaica and it has nicer beaches and staying in Florida saves people $$$ on airfare.

When I travel in the US I stay at nice big hotels (Ritz, Hilton, Marriot) since most of the cheap ones have the police raiding them every night.

that site was a misprint, had to be...secrets st james is on sale at $307 per night for 2 people all inclusive at bookit.com until march 2
the reason you havent heard much about it is, it and secrets wild orchid (next door) don't open until march 20th 2010...they are brand new.
we booked for early may...hope they are fully open and have the bugs worked out by then.

I do agree with ECO!! Mexico is a wonderful place compare to Jamaica!... As he said, it has got beautiful beaches... Then why don't u prefer going Mexico rather than Jamaica... Its quite unsafe place to travel... We should be really careful about our belongings as you can find many robbers there!..

That does seem to be kind of on the pricey side but I guess if you're rolling in dough you aren't going to worry about a mere $1000 a day. The resort does look very beautiful and I'm sure the people that can afford it really enjoy it but of course there are more economical options for a tropical holiday.
