Jamaica- Corruption Perception Index

Postby ECO » Sun Jan 10, 2010 5:30 pm

I never knew people actually had a job sitting around figuring what countries were the most corrupt......who did they bribe to get that type of cushy job?

The 2009 Corruption Perception Index (CPI) from Transparency International placed Jamaica as 99th of the 180 countries surveyed.source: http://www.jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/ ... lead2.html

From the lottery scam in western Jamaica to the man who pays to get his car passed at the examination depot, Jamaicans seem to accept corruption as a way of life.

Today, The Sunday Gleaner places corruption under the spotlight as we examine the web that covers the entire island and permeates almost all sectors.

I have always figured that if politicians and Government employees and contractors started to only steal half the amount of what they would normally steal in a year the economy would be good and ever body would prosper.
Cheers!
What's pushing us apart isn't loneliness what's holding us together isn't love. Listen to the man who's been touched all his life yes he's the one they call the fool. Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.
