For a first time I'd suggest staying in a guest house...however unless your eating out you'd have to use the kitchen to cook. Just mingle with the people and you will find places to go and things to see. Most people in Jamaica are quite happy to introduce their country to you. Just use your head and discretion on knowing which are genuine and which are trying to get things from you, you will find both.

What part of the island are you going to? I live in Jamaica..let me know if your going to be anywhere in St Annes!

Try St Ann's it's a wonderful part of Jamaica! There are plenty of tourist attractions and nice beaches if you just want to chill out. Plus, you can be the first forum member to try out the goods at Batty_gyal's store in Ocho Rios. If you end up going to St Ann's and need some tips for lodging let me know.

Well then here is a song by Johnny Winter that might get your heart thumping on a Monday morning. Cheers!
