Both my sons and I are prepared for simple emergencies like long term power failure plus we have a plan A and a plan B for the day that the sh*t hits the fan and society collapses.
Plan A and plan B have 2 major things in common - include a few marijuana seeds in the survival supplies so that there will be pot in the new world order and to protect our weakest link which is their mother my wife. (she’s clumsy and a bit of a punk so she wouldn’t do well in a new world order). In a nut shell as far as the is blood thicker then water goes my birth family and her birth families plan A is survival of the fittest and there is no room for angle fish in a fish tank of sharks.
Now I am glad that my sons and I evolved and don’t believe it true. Cheers!

In my senior year of college, I lived in a third-floor apartment, right? Kept all my seeds (for a rainy day, I guess) in a small crockery pot with a cork top. One day I was sitting in my rocking chair in my room, playing some music and mellowing out, and only then noticed the ants. I followed the single file of ants from my sliding glass window, across the room, to the crockery pot. Removing the cork top, I was amazed to find it full of ants! They'ed gnawed right through that thick cork stopper to get to my seeds. Had to throw the crockery pot--ants and all--away. Kind of pissed me off, but I had to marvel at those ants' ingenuity.

They were mostly primo high-grade columbian seeds (different strains), too!

In retrospect, I should've been thankful them ants hadn't gotten into my stash. If they'd gotten into my stash, it would have been war!
