Ackee in Meals Other Than Saltfish?

Postby ECO » Sun Jan 31, 2010 9:35 pm

I just heard of pizza with ackee and was wondering what other meals it is served with. I can't tell the difference between it and scrambled egg so I never thought of it as anything other than breakfast food.

So, what other types of meals is it used in?

It's breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Personally I don't like it with out salted cod fish, it's also serve with rost breadfruit, white rice, rice and peas. Fried or cooked dumplings, yams, and cooked banana.

Pizza Ackee? Thats new to me

Just look at a ripe ackee and tell me it doesn't look like a space alien. I have a theory that ackees are, in fact, space aliens and we're eating their brains.

There's gonna be a lot of pissed off ital-eating Rastas when they find out they've been eating space alien brains! :jestercolor:

Ital food...........I forgot all about the Ackee in most of the Ital food I eat in Jamaica. I would love to eat it at home but at $12+ a can it's reserved just for the rich people!

Wahoo, ackee looks more like mutated garlic cloves than space aliens.
