Palms Resort in Negril?

Today my friends asked me that the Palms Resort is the best Resort in Negril. Anybody knows about this resort? Is it best for staying?

I don't know the exact location of it as I have never been there.. I really want to visit the Negril and wondering to know where should I stay? Its my first trip so don't know any thing about this place.. Should I hire some tourist guide?
