Free Breakfast-An insiders tip

Postby ECO » Mon Mar 22, 2010 3:31 pm

So, you get a free breakfast at your hotel, do you know what is included in that free breakfast?

Full story: I got up early (8:00AM) instead of my normal time sometime before noon this past September to meet Ashley for her wedding thingy. Since I only had a few hours of sleep and I was in no mood to walk around Ochi in search of food, so I decided to try the free breakfast at Rooms on the Beach. I assumed it would be a typical eggs, toast, homefries and maybe some fruit type of freebee

After waiting for what seemed like days with thoughts of hand crafted fresh baked creations in my mind....along with a naggin hangover I get this:

So........I'm thinking this is sort of cool that they bring out some bread while they are finishing up with the rest of my breakfast. So I wait around, and then wait around some more and then it comes to me like a flash that they are not bringing me anymore food....I'm looking at the free breakfast

Looking back I guess it was sort of odd that when I told them I wanted the "free breakfast" they did not mention any options.

The moral of the story is don't expect much for free.

Also, don't assume Rooms will give you a Jr Suite just because you paid for one......In 2008 I was wondering why my Jr Suite was nothing special.....in 2009 I booked a non Jr suite and figured out there is no difference.

I just noticed that for once I was able to take a meal picture without a Red Stripe in it! I was starting to get a complex about my breakfast photos having alcohol in them.

Thats seems quite disappointing considering the price you do pay for Rooms.

Damswell, I paid on Skyauction so the room was very cheap.....so cheap that a free breakfast was not needed. I just wish I knew it would take so long for them to bring out that snack, I could of walked over by the clock tower and had a real breakfast for $300-$400J in the same amount of time.

The wait is the worst part almost just for that....and the clock tower breakfast would have been 1000 times better!!!
