This guy is a little over the top but he delivers a straight up report about the issue.

OMG I remember those days when theres no water! Walking a mile to get water because there's no water at home, it's just horrible. What really annoys the poop out of me is they turn the water on at 3-4 in the morning when everyone is sleeping. "Such fools" Just like Jamaica to do things backward.

Walking to get water..... did you have to carry it back or would you just walk to take a bath, wash your clothes and fill up a bottle? I have these images in my mind of women carrying jugs on their heads like in National Geo. Rose, did you folks use the roof top collection into tanks method or did you have water lines that were just shut off when there was no supply?

On a side note, my plans to stay up in the hills last September were cut short due to empty water tanks. No water= no showers, no flushing the toilet, no water to wash hands........ no a good thing at all!

The whole water issue has me a little (1%) concerned about my trip in a few days. Since I'm staying in a really small place I doubt they will have big storage tanks and the $$$ to make sure they have water like the big resorts. Worse case is I'll have to take a bath in the ocean and brush my teeth with beer :-)

I know in the hills right now water has been gone for a few days now, there is no pressure to run it up the pipe up the hill. So water is being carried up.

Thats one think i do not miss about JA, water shortage and power outages!!

I would carry jugs in my hands back and fourth to fill a huge container. We never used the roof top to collect water we had water lines that would shut off when there's no water supply. My sisters were in Jamaica a week ago, she had to carry water from a neighbour house five houses away to fill a bath so they could wash.
