Are you shytin me? What's your secret? I'm lucky if I can manage a quik trip once a year...or every 2 or 3 years! I've got the wrong job! I've got to pick up the pace with my "retirement plan" of wooing some aging heiress with Alzheimer's disease and tricking her into changing her will to make me the executor of her estate so I can afford to live a life of leisure and make Negril my second home.

To digress, I saw something today you don't see every day. After moving my son out of his dorm at the end of his sophomore year of college in SW Va, was cruising through the Shenandoah Valley back to Northern Va and glanced over in a fenced field and saw a llama! Those things are huge! Midway in size, I'd say, between a Virginia white-tail deer and a camel. I guess some people in the valley are raising llamas. I have no idea why. You can't eat a llama, can you? :scratchheadblue:

Secret=

1. Finding airfare for under $350.
2. Buying cases of beer or finding cheap places to drink beer.
3. Not eating where tourists eat and making my own meals for around $1.00 or so a meal.
4. Not giving away my money to random people.
5. Using the forum and my blogs for reviews.......
6. Staying at cheap places.
7. Saving my $1.00 bills at home for months, I think this provided me with $300-$500 in spending money for my last trip.
8. Haggling for almost everything!
9. Trading stuff instead of buying stuff.

Lol @ llama......they can be mean as well if they are herd animals and not pets! You can use them for pack animals and kids can actually ride on them. People raise them to sell their babies.......funny how nobody really rides them, uses them for pack animals or do anything with them.

With all the $$$ I've saved on condoms over the last 8 years or so, that should equate to a 3- to 4-night stay at any 5-star AI in Negril! :roulette:

Actually, I might have to take the kids to Disney before a trip to JA. If I have never mentioned it before, I hate Disney! I would rather donate a kidney or testicle than return to Disney!

I'm wondering if they would notice the rides missing if I took them to JA instead.......driving down the country roads are sort of like a roller coaster :-)

After watching Final Destination III, I'd never allow my kids to go on a ride at Disney or anywhere! :yipes:

I say take them to Jamaica and let them ride the donkey-car all day.

Or do the Chukka zipline tour. They don't have that at DisneyWorld!

Since I had to postpone plans for a Negril trip in April, I had my sights set on later this summer or fall (perhaps in September), but now I've had an unanticipated expense (about exactly the same as the costs of a 4-night Negril stay). But that's not all! Received an "Important Announcement" from the community homeowners' association that due to the 2009-2010 winter record-setting snowfall, the association is $140,000 in the red for snow removal and has approved a "Special Unit Owners' Assessment" to cover the cost. They haven't announced yet specifically how much each unit owner will be assessed, though they have generously allowed that those facing hardship to pay the assessment in two equal installments.

Why is God punishing me? :scratchheadblue:

Wahoo, God is telling you to keep your asss at home! Last year he killed your car so you could not go and then he provided all of that snow to screw up your budget. How about buying a snow plow & truck and tapping into that $140,000+ snow contract? You could make enough money to buy a nice hotel or two and we would all have a free place to stay!

Now that's a terrific idea! Except that I'd probably end up plowing the driveways of the cougars on my street for free as a courtesy ;-) and losing money and then having my snow plow & truck repoed.

Memorial Day weekend:

Sailing from Providence Rhode Island to Newport on Friday.

Racing from Newport to Block Island on Saturday.

Sailing from Block Island back to Newport on Sunday.

Sailing from Newport back to Providence on Monday.

Add in gallons of beer......bottles of wine......some rum...great food...great company....and it's a 4 day party!

Hopefully this will not be another hold on for dear life while praying to JAH while wave surfing on the open ocean race.

I'm getting seasick just reading about Eco's Memorial Day sailing plans. I can't imagine myself ever living farther than a couple of hours' drive from the coast, but my idea of fun is watching the sun sink on the horizon from my comfortable chair or hammock close to the nearest beach bar.
