Sailor Songs

The fleets in so it will be a wild and rowdy night in down town Vancouver tonight.

What can you do witha drunken sailor

What's pushing us apart isn't loneliness what's holding us together isn't love. Listen to the man who's been touched all his life yes he's the one they call the fool. Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.

Hmmm, I never saw girls like that and I was the poster boy for a drunken sailor all weekend.

Nanoose, even though Marines contemptuously/affectionately call sailors "squids" and "coasties" (US Coast Guard) the "brown water navy," I always get goosebumps when I hear the U.S. Navy Hymn ("Eternal Father, strong to save...") and the UK's Rule Britanica. But I get a woodie every time I hear:

I always thought that Marines affectionately called sailors Popeye’s.
I never knew that that is a Marian Hymn - thought it was WW11 song for the combined forces called from the halls of Montezuma.
I watched the Video but because I pretty much always have a woody I could'nt tell for sure if it was because the Marian Hymn.

At the moment I can’t remember what happened at the halls of Montezuma or the Shores of Tripoli so I am going to Goggle it and refresh my memory.
Also I noticed in the related videos that there are some about fighter jets launching off air craft carriers and some of attack helicopters so I am going to down load some. I think there pretty impressive machinery - even the sound is cool. Cheers!

Nanoose, the "to the shores of Tripoli" part is an interesting story. Has much to do with ending US "tribute" payments to Arab nations to curtail piracy at sea in the region and the selling into slavery of whites aboard the captured vessels.

I did a Wikapedia search on the Battle of Derne and it was quite interesting – I never knew that the Marian Core dated that far back. Also did a search on the Battle of Chapultepec and it seems like that battle was a definning moment in history. Cheers!
