How much money do you spend a night for a hotel in Jamaica?
It REALLY depends on your taste in accomodation. If you're only sleeping there you can get away with $50 or less. If you want something nice, ask someone else. I dont know.

I would take either but I know I won't find my price range next door to the action. So I usually stay off the beaten path.

NO NO NO all inclusives for me. I like to get out and eat real food. And I buy big bottles of rum for my room LOL.

I've had that twice and I admit, its awesome! But again, not in my price range.

I prefer a front door that walks to the outside.

I'll answer my own question. I only spent my last night in Jamaica in a hotel, so I'm not a Jamaican hotel expert at all.

How much money do you spend a night for a hotel in Jamaica? I only spent around $50 or $55 for a night

Do you like to stay next door to all of the action or up in the hills where everything is peaceful? The hotel was between two strip clubs, a jerk joint and some adult intimate entertainment workers. Since I did not visit the strip joints I can't say I was in "action central".

Do you like the all inclusive places or do you prefer to pay for your meals and drinks wherever you like? I've stayed in only one all inclusive in my life and it's just not for me. Since I like to get out and about I don't like to pay for meals that I'm never going to eat.

Do you require a beach front hotel with a good water view? Depends, since I'm a water person I really like to be close to water if at all possible.

Sort of a split but I would take a walkout room on the beach over the top floor of a high rise hotel.

I've been in all inclusives and little out of the way places. Mostly I've stayed in yard. Honestly, they all have their places. It just depends on why you are there and how much comfort you want.

I'm pretty sure it was $50, I meant to ask my friend down there when we chatted this afternoon. I know we got two room and his was cheaper than mine since it didn't have AC and the kitchen. I have no clue why I got one with a kitchen since I had no plans to cook anything--- maybe it was all that they had left?

I think for a single guy in Jamaica (to have a great time) would have to require $100 per day. I would get more than less, so you don't run out too fast. five days I would get $700. That pays, taxi's, phone cards, snacks/food etc….

Funny timing that this thread resurfaces as I'm planning my budget for April. If I subtract alcohol, ganja and other sins I come up with around $50 a day for food and lodging. There are also a bunch of hostels in Jamaica where you can stay for around $20 a night and somewhere I posted a thread about the network where people let strangers sleep in a spare bed or on their couch for free.

This depends upon the comfort level that you aspire for. A 5 star or luxury resort will charge way more than a hostel or backpacker resort.
