A PSA from Wahoo

Postby Wahoo » Mon Feb 01, 2010 8:11 pm

Just a reminder to monitor your account statements for false charges/fraudulent activity. Got a letter tonight from the company that manages my employer-sponsored retirement plan advising me that my access to secure areas of the company's website had been disabled because "you or someone acting on your behalf" entered an incorrect password 3 times when trying to log in to my account recently. I did not attempt to access my account online on the specified date; in fact, I've never tried to access my account online.

Damned crooked low-life bomboclaats!

Lol, some credit union keeps sending me text messages about my account that I don't have.

Paypal tells me I need to verify my account at least once a week (scam).

Yahoo messenger sends me a text message maybe twice a month asking for my user name and password.....almost fell for this one.

So, a little over a month ago I got a new Toyota pick up truck.......and noticed that 30% of the time when I pressed the break pedal the engine would rev up. Now that there is a recall people finally believe me :???:

I play poker and like playing the odds, one of these days one of those Nigerians might really want to pay me $$$$$$$$$$'s but I can't figure out which one so I keep sending the rest of them money.

I called & spoke with an agent, who said there've been 3 failed attempts--by person(s) other than me--to access my account over a period of time. He said this occurs A LOT and that generally such failed attempts are not referred to the fraud department (to trace IP numbers, etc) unless there's unusual account activity (in other words, if some sleezeball succeeds in accessing and wiping out your account). I feel so much better now. :bs:
